01 — Biography
BIOGRAPHY
Karima El Aidaoui born in Tangier is a self-taught Moroccan dancer and choreographer. Her work explores the body as a space for expressing inner and social tensions, through research on endurance, repetition, and the physical states of movement.
Her journey in dance began at a young age through urban practices. At the age of 20, she joined a contemporary dance training program in Tangier, Morocco. This experience marked a turning point in her artistic path and strengthened her desire to develop a personal choreographic language.
As a performer, Karima has collaborated with several companies and choreographers in Morocco and Europe, including Mehdi Dahkan (Cie JILZ), Saïd El Haddaji (Cie Hnaya), Rhythme Naturel, Olivier Dubois, and Salima Moumni.
In 2026, she founded KAYN Company, a structure dedicated to the development of her choreographic research. Through her creations, she questions social norms, intimate constructions, and the tensions that run through bodies in contemporary society.
Her first solo creation, Mektoub, has been developed between Morocco, Belgium, and France through several national and international residencies. The project has received co-production support from Le Granit – Scène nationale de Belfort (France) and AFAC – Arab Fund for Arts and Culture.
Currently, Karima is developing two new choreographic works titled Follower and 0meter.
كريمة العيدواي، المولودة في طنجة، راقصة ومصممة رقص مغربية عصامية. يستكشف عملها الجسد كفضاء للتعبير عن التوترات الداخلية والاجتماعية، من خلال بحث يرتكز على التحمّل، والتكرار، والحالات الجسدية للحركة.
بدأ مسارها في الرقص في سن مبكرة من خلال الممارسات الحضرية. وفي سن العشرين، التحقت ببرنامج تكويني في الرقص المعاصر بمدينة طنجة، المغرب. شكّلت هذه التجربة نقطة تحوّل في مسارها الفني، وعزّزت رغبتها في تطوير لغة كوريغرافية خاصة بها.
كمؤدية، تعاونت كريمة مع عدة فرق ومصممي رقص في المغرب وأوروبا، من بينهم مهدي دحكان (فرقة جيلز)، سعيد الحداجي (فرقة هناية)، ريتم ناتوريل، أوليفييه دوبوا، وسليمة مومني.
في سنة 2026، أسست فرقة KAYN، وهي بنية مخصّصة لتطوير أبحاثها الكوريغرافية. ومن خلال أعمالها، تطرح أسئلة حول المعايير الاجتماعية، والبناءات الحميمة، والتوترات التي تعبر الأجساد في المجتمع المعاصر.
تم تطوير أول عمل منفرد لها، Mektoub، بين المغرب وبلجيكا وفرنسا عبر عدة إقامات فنية وطنية ودولية. وقد حظي المشروع بدعم في الإنتاج المشترك من Le Granit – Scène nationale de Belfort بفرنسا وAFAC – الصندوق العربي للثقافة والفنون.
حالياً، تعمل كريمة على تطوير عملين كوريغرافيين جديدين بعنوان Follower و 0meter.
02 — COMPANY
KAYN
KAYN Company is a contemporary dance company based in Tangier, Morocco, founded in 2026 by choreographer Karima El Aidaoui.
The name KAYN, derived from the Arabic word “كاين” (existence), reflects the core of the company’s vision: dance as a space of presence, awareness, and transformation. KAYN explores what happens within the human bodywhere inner tensions, emotions, and social pressures take form and become movement.
The company develops choreographic research grounded in discipline, clarity, and intention. Its work focuses on physical states such as endurance, repetition, and resistance, revealing the invisible forces that shape human experience.
KAYN collaborates with artists from different disciplines to create encounters that influence and transform the work.
Alongside its creations, KAYN Company develops pedagogical programs, including choreographic laboratories and research-based workshops. These initiatives support emerging dancers and choreographers, offering spaces for exploration, critical thinking, and artistic growth.
فرقة KAYN هي فرقة للرقص المعاصر مقرّها في طنجة، المغرب، أسستها سنة 2026 مصممة الرقص كريمة العيدواي.
يحمل اسم KAYN جذوره من الكلمة العربية «كاين» التي تعني الوجود، وهو يعكس جوهر رؤية الفرقة: الرقص باعتباره فضاءً للحضور والوعي والتحوّل. تستكشف KAYN ما يحدث داخل الجسد الإنساني، حيث تتشكّل التوترات الداخلية والمشاعر والضغوط الاجتماعية وتتحول إلى حركة.
تطوّر الفرقة أبحاثاً كوريغرافية تقوم على الانضباط والوضوح والقصد. ويركّز عملها على حالات جسدية مثل التحمّل والتكرار والمقاومة، كوسيلة لكشف القوى غير المرئية التي تشكّل التجربة الإنسانية.
تتعاون KAYN مع فنانين من تخصصات مختلفة لخلق لقاءات فنية تؤثر في العمل وتساهم في تحوّله.
إلى جانب أعمالها الفنية، تطوّر فرقة KAYN برامج بيداغوجية تشمل مختبرات كوريغرافية وورشات بحثية. وتهدف هذه المبادرات إلى دعم الراقصين ومصممي الرقص الناشئين، من خلال توفير فضاءات للاستكشاف والتفكير النقدي والنمو الفني.
